The new station for the long-distance trains will be Krung Thep Aphiwat Station (previously known as Bang Sue Grand Station). Bangkok Hua Lamphong will remain open for other train services.

Buses

By bus, you can go almost anywhere you want in Thailand. The price is very affordable especially for public buses and more expensive if you choose VIP buses generally offer more comfortable seat with meal. In buses, there is no limit on luggage and no extra fee for heavy luggage. Each city has its bus terminals. Bangkok has three major bus terminals, each with its region of destination. Mochit, the largest one is the gateway to towns in the North of Thailand and also offers some departures for cities in the South or in the East, Sai Tai Mai offers buses to the South and Ekkamai to the East of the country.

Boat and Ferries

With over 300 amazing islands off the Thailand coastlines, it can be difficult to choose which islands to visit and how long to stay. If you decide to visit islands in the Andaman Sea or the Gulf of Thailand, there are an assortment of ferries, speed boat and longtail boat transfer services available to get you island-hopping in no time.

River and canal transport

In Bangkok, the Chao Phraya River is a major transportation artery, with ferries, water taxis (the Chao Phraya Express Boat) and long-tailed boats. There are local, semi-express, and express lines for commuters, though the winding river means trips can be much farther than by bus. There is also the Khlong Saen Saeb boat service, which provides fast, inexpensive transport in central Bangkok.
